In 2011 Huw Lowden and Steven Younger took over from Danny Frost, who had created a well established and much loved furniture and timber business.
This business has gone form strength to strength, including being an exhibitor in the 2011 Grand Designs exhibition in Birmingham.
In 2016 the decision was made to change the name of the business. All of the traditions are maintained but with a fresh, reinvigorated approach.
Steven started with Danny Frost from the beginning, being trained in making furniture. He is now seen as the master craftsman in the furniture side of the business.
His passion is to see raw materials transform into a finished product.
For over 20 years, Steven has developed his skills to make him able to make bespoke pieces of furniture for each customer. By listening to peoples ideas, he is able to make the piece of furniture that they only dreamed of.
Steven is always trying new ideas and looking for the next thing to inspire him to make the next piece of bespoke furniture.
A native Cumbrian, Huw has worked with his hands since childhood and has a great love for all things traditional. After completing a two year furniture making course at Carlisle College he joined Danny Frost in 2002 where he learned the trade from the ground up.
Huw has a huge passion for traditional woodworking practices and takes great pride in his work. Huw is the driving force behind the timber side of Danny Frost and offers a vast knowledge of all species of wood for any project.
His passion continues into the tools he makes and the pride he takes in the pieces of furniture he produces.
Jason started with the team in 2013 as an apprentice and is continuing to learn all aspects of the business, from timber to making furniture. His enthusiasm shines through in his work and dedication.
